Ukrtelecom JSC - Annual Reports

We have been working hard for all last year to provide the most residents of Ukraine with high-quality Internet access for fair prices regardless the access technology 24 hours day and night. This task was the most significant for us so as we clearly understand the importance of Internet for everyone. In this day and age Internet allows getting any information and data you need, communicating with your friends, working, selling and buying goods and services, listening to music and watching movies, studying and widening knowledge. Internet provides us with the innovations having changed the world and become an integral part of our lives.

During 2010 Ukrtelecom’s team did their best to implement the broadband Internet access solution. We managed to keep the rate of subscribers’ number growing for the OGO! Broadband Internet access service and in summer 2010 we were one and only among Ukrainian providers whose customers’ number amounted 1 million consumers. And the highest-quality, the most popular and the best unlimited Internet in Ukraine offered by our OGO! Internet service became mobile and attracted its devotees at once.

Our Company’s mobile subscriber base grew continuously but the rate was less than we expected. This was caused by not enough investments though significant increase in our profit and growing interest in our services make us optimistic. Regardless the world trends, we managed to keep our position in the traditional fixed-line telephony and account on improving the situation next year.

Our Company’s network capacity was considerably extended and updated including both internal and external lines. The work has been done allows us to render high-quality services and at the same time to project implementation of the other innovative technologies and switch new service bundles for our customers. In general 2010 year became a milestone for further business of our Company. After ten years of hesitations our Ukrainian Government made firm, necessary and the only possible decision to privatize Ukrtelecom JSC.

I believe that the new owner of the Company has enough financial, administration and managerial capabilities ensuring Ukrtelecom to be the undoubted leader on the market. At the same time in 2011 the Company’s team did their best to lay safe foundation for our future.

Not everything that had been planned was implemented, first of all because of the lack of investments, though the results of the year could be considered the best under the circumstances arisen. I am sure that 2011 is a new starting point for the Company allowing progress, prosperity and the leadership.

I appreciate all the efforts contributing into the progress of our Company and I am confident that our employees will have felt the improvements since 2011.
